A total of 10,000 surrenderees involved in the use/sell of illegal and dangerous drugs from the different provinces of CALABARZON region gathered last July 30, 2016 at Alonte Sports Arena, Binan City.  The program is in support to PNP's Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign Plan - Project "Double-Barrel" for promoting a drug free society.  Officials from various government agencies provided the surrenderees with information on their specific programs and services. They were encouraged to avail of such programs and services that will provide them with opportunies for growth and change.

TESDA Director General Secretary Irene Isaac turned over the agency's leadership to Secretary Guiling “Gene”  Mamondiong in a ceremony held July 13, 2016 at the TESDA Women Center in Taguig City. The ceremony was attended by the agency’s national directorate composed of the Deputy Director General for Policies and Planning, Rosanna A. Urdaneta, Deputy Director General  for TESD Operations, Atty. Teodoro C. Pascua, Regional Directors and Executive Directors and also by friends and relatives of Secretary Mamondiong.

The Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC) kicked off June 20, 2016 at the TESDA grounds wherein tech-voch trainees and graduates from around the nation are more than ready to unravel their skills and showcase their expertise in various trade areas following weeks of rigid training in the Gold Camp 2. From 64 teams, 43 surviving teams still remain to compete in 12 competition areas, namely: welding; Graphic Design Technology; Mechatronics; Web Design; Industrial Automation; IT Network Cabling; Mechanical CAD; Electronics; ITS Solution for Business; Refrigeration and Air-conditioning;
