TESDA IV-A (CALABARZON) and PTC Lipa Conducts Orientation on Basic Motor Vehicle Maintenance and GAD-Related Laws, and Basic Self-Defense Techniques
In celebration of National Women’s Month 2025, with the theme "Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,", TESDA IV-A (CALABARZON) with PTC Lipa, conducted a Gender and Development (GAD) Seminar and Orientation on Basic Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Self-Defense Techniques on March 17, 2025, at TESDA PTC Lipa, The Olan’s Place, Brgy. Marawoy, Lipa City, Batangas.
The seminar featured discussions led by officers from the Lipa City Police Station, covering key GAD-related laws:
-PLT Nena B. Garcia discussed Republic Act 9710 (Magna Carta of Women)
-PMSG Jubelle M. Dumaguin explained Republic Act 7877 (Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995)
-PMSG Lenie C. Garcia tackled Republic Act 8353 (Anti-Rape Law of 1997)
-PCMS Raymond L. Rellin demonstrated Basic Self-Defense Techniques
Additionally, Senior TESD Specialist Juluis N. Abancio of PTC Lipa facilitated the Orientation on Basic Motor Vehicle Maintenance, providing participants with practical knowledge on vehicle upkeep and troubleshooting.
Staff from TESDA IV-A Regional Office and PTC Lipa actively participated in hands-on sessions, enhancing their technical proficiency, legal awareness, and personal safety skills.
Through this initiative, TESDA IV-A and PTC Lipa continue to advocate for self-reliance, gender-responsive learning, and community empowerment, reinforcing their commitment to creating a safer, more informed, and capable workforce.
