TESDA Cavite Develops Industry-Driven Curriculum for Mushroom Propagation Level II

TESDA Cavite successfully led the Curriculum Standard Development (CS Devt) for Mushroom Propagation and Production Level II from March 12-14, 2025, at Kabutihan Farm, Amadeo, Cavite. The initiative aimed to enhance and standardize the training curriculum, aligning it with TESDA’s competency-based training approach and industry standards.

Curriculum development experts Rodrigo B. Dela Cruz, Luisita S. Dela Cruz, Ma. Lourdes O. Villanueva, and Rafael M. Decena Jr. facilitated the workshop, alongside TESDA Cavite Training Institution (TTI) TM1 Trainers Adela Terrible and Lorriene Ysthyr Marie Guillermo, who provided insights on competency-based education.

The three-day workshop focused on:

1. Modern mushroom production techniques and sustainable farming practices

2. Validation and refinement of Competency Standards (CS)

3. Enhancing training methodologies to meet TESDA’s Training Regulations

4. Establishing guidelines for high-quality graduates

5. Practical applications of mushroom cultivation

Experts and trainers emphasized the need to integrate innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship into the curriculum, ensuring learners are equipped with relevant skills for the agricultural sector.
