TESDA-LLDA PTC Strengthens Partnership with Industry for Research and Development, Institution and Community-Based Training Plans for 2025

Two important industry organizations in Laguna signed and renewed their partnership with TESDA-LLDA Provincial Training Center in fulfilling the center’s vision of becoming the specialized institution in agricultural innnovation in Laguna. On February 4, 2025, the Laguna Cacao Farmers Association (LCFA) signed a memorandum of understanding with TESDA-LLDA PTC to collaborate in conducting research and development activities for their organization. On the same day, CBK Power Company Limited (CBKPCL) renewed their commitment to collaborate with the PTC in the conduct of institution-based and community-based training for their host municipalities.

Center Administrator Catherine B. Torres, Training Unit Head Orlando Saulon, Designated Registrar Azareel Sumaya and trainers Christian Dacoron and Owen Lee Saulon were welcomed by CBK Power Company Limited in Kalayaan, Laguna. Community Relations Officer Maricris-Ann Himoc, together with Del Christjon Sogabo of CBKPCL led the meeting for the 2025 plans for collaboration of the company and TESDA-LLDA PTC. The power plant has five host municipalities from the 4th district of the province as beneficiaries - Kalayaan, Lumban, Cavinti, Majayjay and Luisiana. The training programs planned for 2025 are Dressmaking NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I and II, Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II and III. Among the community-based training programs planned are Breadmaking, Soybean Processing and Basic Garments Production.

Officers of Laguna Cacao Farmers Association, headed by its President Oliver John Gomez signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TESDA-LLDA PTC Administrator Catherine Torres for Research and Development. The planned activities under the MOU are expected to boost evidence-based endeavors that can assist cacao farmers, processors and entrepreneurs. Research and Development Focal of the PTC Azareel Sumaya was also present to witness the MOU signing together with other officials of LCFA comprising of Celedonia Amante, Susan Bagsit and Agripina Replan.
