TESDA's Driving NC II Program Equips 17 Rosario Scholars for Better Opportunities
As the new year begins, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) continues its commitment of delivering Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs and services aimed at uplifting the lives of Filipinos, particularly those who are underserved.
On 3 January 2025, TESDA Batangas Provincial Director Dorie U. Gutierrez, together with Ms. Annalyn S. Panopio from the Provincial Training Center (PTC) Lipa, attended the graduation ceremony for the Driving NC II program under the Training for Works Scholarship Program (TWSP) of the agency held at Barangay Salao, Rosario, Batangas.
This training program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to operate light motor vehicles classified under LTO Restriction Codes 1 and 2. It prepares them to transport passengers and goods along specified routes, collect fares as authorized by relevant government agencies, comply with local traffic rules and regulations, and perform minor vehicle repairs and servicing.
There were 17 residents from Barangay Salao, one of the priority areas identified under Executive Order 70, who successfully completed this 15-day community-based training program conducted by PTC Lipa from 20 November 2024 to 6 December 2024. The initiative is part of the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) program, which intends to address social and economic challenges in vulnerable areas.
The activity was also attended by Honorable Atanacio Zara, the Municipal Vice Mayor of Rosario. Vice Mayor Zara expressed his gratitude to TESDA for providing training interventions that create employment opportunities. He hopes that such initiatives will continue, recognizing the benefits they bring to the community.
Certificate of Training and Training Support Fund were distributed to successful scholars during the ceremony.
