TESDA and DSWD Launch C4T@Calabarzon

The Cash for Training Project or C4T is the government's stimulus program to push economic growth back on track.  A joint project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and TESDA, it aims to empower the disadvantaged youths through skills training and assistance towards gainful employment and entrepreneurial activities.
Launched last February 28 at Batangas Provincial Capitol,  TESDA Director General Secretary Joel Villanueva and Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste encouraged the C4T beneficiaries to complete their training programs that will provide them with  free training cost, transportation allowance, assessment fee.  Youths who will enrol in programs for wage employment  will be provided with employment referral assistance.  Those who will opt for self-employment programs will be given tool kits to help them earn right after the training.  There are 3,286 beneficiaries in Calabarzon.  Each beneficiary is entitled to a P20,000 worth of training and training-related assistance. 
Sec. Joel thanked DSWD for partnering with TESDA  in this program and ensured Sec. Dinky Soliman thru DSWD Calabarzon Regional Director Leticia Diokno that the C4T program will be implemented as planned.  He emphazised that the C4T program is in good hands, noting the commitment and quality training  provided by registered TVET institutions not only in Calabarzon but througout the country.  
The launching was attended by Provincial and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers and beneficiaries from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
