TESDA TO HOLD ROAD SAFETY FORUM ON ITS ANNIVERSARY
In order to prevent road accidents, the Alliance of TESDA Certified Drivers, Trainers, Assessor, and Safety Driving Advocates (AllTESDAPhil) will hold a road safety forum during the 23rd anniversary of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong said that the road safety forum will be held at the TESDA Main Office Covered Court in Taguig City on Aug. 22, 1-6 p.m.
The theme of the road safety forum will be “Transport Modernization: The Gateway to Road Safety” which aims to give drivers enough knowledge on road safety.
Among the topics to be discussed include “Road Safety is a Shared Responsibility” with Engr. Alberto Suansing, National Chairman of Safety Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (SOPI), as guest speaker; and “What Transport Modernization Means to the Lives of Transport Operators” which will be tackled by Orlando Marquez, National Chairman of the Liga ng Transportasyon at Operators sa Pilipinas (LTOP).
Also joining the forum are Roberto Martin, National Chairman ng Pasang Masda, who will speak on “The Cause and Effect of Transport Modernization" and Zenaida Maranan, National Chairman of Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (FEJODAP), who will discuss the "Advantages of Transport Modernization on Jeepney Drivers."
At the same occasion, AllTESDAPhil will also launch its book on road safety and traffic violations.
Aside from TESDA, other agencies who are joining forces with the AllTESDAPhil for the forum Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board, Hyundai Philippines, Shell Philippines and Philippine National Bank.
More than 1,500 delegates from various agencies and industries are expected to join the road safety forum.
