Not contented with just preparing coffee, Sec Joel took a step further by studying the roasting side of the coffee beans. 

In his visit to a coffee manufacturing company in Silang, Cavite, SILKA Coffee President Mr. Enrile Asuncion briefed him and his group  on the origin and history of the coffee industry, noting that Cavite is the largest coffee producing province in the region.  Mr. Michael Asuncion, SILKA Vice President  demonstrated the various steps of coffee making which he calls "from the tree to the cup."  He explained the right way of selecting and picking the coffee beans, drying the beans, sorting and roasting processes.  He was also treated to a unique way of "breaking the beans." 

Sec Joel's passion for coffee was further enhanced  when he made his own coffee blend.  After trying some combinations of roasted beans which he himself roasted, he finally came up with his own SEC JOEL'S BLEND.
