TESDA Director General Secretary Joel Villanueva urged the participants of the 2nd Calabarzon TVET Congress to play an active role in the ASEAN Economic Community.  Speaking before a crowd of 715 Administrators and officers of public and private tech voc institutions (TVIs) and Department of Education 4A  offcials, Sec Joel said that the TVIs  should continue producing certified graduates who will be part of the global workforce.  He mentioned that the TVET sector should be ready for the ASEAN Economic Community 2015  specially on the recorgnition of professional qualifications thru mutual recognition agreements (MRA).

A dialogue between Dep Ed Division School Superitendents and TVI Administrators was held in the afternoon to discuss the partnership agreements for the K-12 implementation, specifically for the TVL track.

Other resources speakers were TESDA DDG Irene M. Isaac, DTI Asec Rafaelita M. Aldaba and Ms. Glenda T. Reyes and Dep Ed Director of Secondary Education Dr. Jocelyn DR. Andaya.  The Congress was held last August 27, 2014 at Tagaytay International Convention Center with the   theme "Strengthening TVET for Asean Integration 2015.
