TESDA-CALABARZON Bags 5 Medals in the 2nd Zonal Skills Competition 2019
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) CALABARZON earns five (5) medals in the 2nd Zonal Skills Competition 2019 transpired on Nov. 6 to 10 at the TESDA Complex, East Service Road, South Superhighway, Taguig City.
The team finishes the competition with three (3) gold medal wins in areas such as Restaurant Services, Automobile Technology, and Fashion Technology. Also, two (2) silver medals in Electrical Installation and IT Network Systems Administration. A total of five (5) victories out of 13 trade areas participated.
The team’s competitor for Restaurant Services, Mr. Glen Christian Endozo from Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas, contends with participants from other regions. He was awarded not only the gold medal but also received the Best of Region Award.
The Fashion Technology delegate, Ms. Jenierose Magalona from Sisters of Mary Technical Education Institute Cavite, Inc., also obtains a gold medal. Moreover, the third gold medal win is from the delegate in Automobile Technology, Mr. Roberto Maguddayao Jr. from Salawag Global Training Institute of Technology Inc.
The silver medals are from the efforts of the region’s competitors in Electrical Installation, Mr. John Kenylee Manalang from CSTC College of Sciences, Technology & Communications, Inc. and Mr. King Hector Garcia from Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas.
The competition aims not only to bring out who has the best skills among the technical-vocational graduates but also compete against the standards set by the World Skills.
The winners of the 2nd Zonal Skills Competition may have a chance to compete in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) World Skills Competition in Singapore in 2020.
